Valentine’s retail ideas from February 2025

Our February 2025 roundup explored how brands connected products with Valentine’s gifting, nights in and moments shared with friends. The examples raised a useful creative question: how can a familiar seasonal occasion give shoppers a fresh reason to notice a brand?

Galaxy and Bridget Jones

We developed in-store activation for the Galaxy partnership with Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. Sainsbury’s shoppers could enter a promotion to win a London break with friends. The film connection gave the creative a recognisable theme and the prize a link to the wider entertainment experience.

Help shoppers find the occasion

We also looked at Sainsbury’s seasonal presentation and dedicated gifting displays. Bringing relevant products together can make the occasion easier to shop. For a brand, the design challenge is to communicate its own character while fitting the retail setting.

Make the product part of the idea

Dr Pepper Cherry Crush also caught our attention that February. Its launch combined a flavour story with playful Valentine’s language. It is a useful reminder that a seasonal treatment should help explain or introduce the product, as well as decorate it.

What to take into a future brief

Choose the relationship or occasion you are talking to, then give the shopper a clear next step. That might be choosing a gift, planning an evening or entering a promotion. Keep the offer, relevant conditions and product easy to find across the pack, display and digital journey.
